We Buy Jewelry in Towson, MD — Sell Your Pieces for a Fair Price

When you're ready to sell jewelry the buyer matters as much as the offer. You want someone who knows what they're looking at, explains how they arrived at their number, and doesn't rush you into a decision.
Our buying team brings decades of combined experience in estate jewelry. We purchase gold, diamonds, estate pieces, vintage jewelry, designer items, and more. All from our Towson office, in person, with same-day offers and immediate payment on acceptance.,

Selling jewelry is a personal decision, and it deserves a personal setting.
When you bring pieces to Mayflower,  there’s no sales floor, no other customers browsing nearby, and nobody waiting on you to make up your mind. You sit down with a buyer in a private office, take as much time as you need, and leave with a clear picture of what your jewelry is worth.

We buy gold, diamonds, estate and vintage pieces, fine watches, designer jewelry, and silver from our Towson, MD office. Same-day offers. No obligation.

What We Buy

we buy gold jewelry

Gold & Gold Jewelry

Yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, all karats, all forms. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and loose gold are all evaluated based on weight, purity, and current market price.

we buy diamonds and diamond jewelry

Diamonds & Diamond Jewelry

Our certified experts specialize in assessing diamond engagement rings, wedding bands, and loose diamonds. You’ll receive a thorough evaluation to help you get the best value.

we buy antique, vintage, and estate jewelry

Estate & Vintage Jewelry

Pieces with history require buyers who understand it. We actively seek out antique and vintage jewelry.  Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Retro periods all have dedicated collector markets, and we stay current on what those markets are paying.

we buy watches

Luxury Watches

We selectively purchase luxury timepieces from recognized brands including Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, and others. Brand, condition, and value threshold all factor into whether a watch is a good fit for outright purchase. If it isn’t, consignment may be a better path and we’ll tell you that honestly.

we buy designer jewelry

Designer Jewelry

Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, David Yurman, and other recognized luxury designers. Designer pieces retain value in ways that generic jewelry doesn’t, and we evaluate them accordingly. Brand, condition, original packaging, and current secondary market demand all factor in.

we buy silver and silver jewelry

Silver & Silver Jewelry

Sterling silver jewelry, flatware, and collectibles. Offers are based on weight, purity, and, for notable pieces, maker and period.

How It Works

Every appointment follows the same approach, though how long it takes depends on what you bring.

Step 1: Schedule an Appointment

Call or contact us to set a time. Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but an appointment means you have dedicated time with a buyer and won’t be waiting.

Step 2: Come to Our Towson Office

We’re located in a professional office building in Towson, MD. When you arrive, you’ll meet with a buyer privately, not at a counter, not in a showroom.

Step 3: We Examine Your Pieces Together

Your jewelry is sorted by metal type and acid tested to confirm purity,  this is the standard for accuracy, not guesswork. From there, we look at each piece individually. Broken or heavily worn items are evaluated for scrap value based on weight. Pieces in better condition are assessed for the resale market — whether they’re worth repairing, what collector demand looks like, and what a realistic selling price would be.
For pieces with valuable stones, we identify the gemstones and estimate weights where the setting allows. If a piece has complexity, such as a significant diamond, a known designer, a period piece with collector value,  that can take more time, and we’ll tell you why.
Questions are welcome throughout. We’ll explain what we’re looking at and why it affects value.,

Step 4: You Receive a Same-Day Offer

At the end of the appointment, we make an offer. You’re not obligated to accept. If you want to think it over, that’s fine.
For high-value pieces, we’ll also discuss consignment as an option. Consignment reaches a wider audience through our network and often yields a better return for the seller. The tradeoff with consignment is time, since items sell through our network rather than immediately. If that’s something you want to explore, we’ll walk you through how it works.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The length of an appointment varies. A small collection of gold jewelry might take 30 minutes. An estate with mixed pieces — jewelry, watches, silver, collectibles — could take longer, especially if research is needed to make a competitive offer.

If you decide to sell, there is state-required paperwork to complete, and we’ll need a copy of a valid government-issued ID. This is standard for all jewelry purchases in Maryland and protects both parties.

You won’t be asked to decide on the spot. You won’t be followed up with pressuring calls. If you accept an offer, payment is often handled the same day.

Why Sellers Choose Mayflower

Most people selling jewelry are doing it for the first time. They’ve never had a piece acid tested or heard someone explain the difference between scrap and resale value. That’s the norm, not an exception, and it’s nothing to be embarrassed about.

What we hear most often after an appointment is that people were surprised by how straightforward it was. They expected to feel pressured or outmaneuvered. Instead, they left with a clear explanation of what their jewelry was worth and why, whether or not they sold.

Our buying team has been buying estate and fine jewelry for decades. We have deep hands-on experience with the kinds of pieces most people inherit, accumulate, or simply stop wearing. We’re not a high-volume operation running back-to-back transactions. We’re a small team that takes the time to get it right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
We’re in Towson, MD, just outside Baltimore. All transactions take place at our office, we don’t purchase jewelry by mail or based on photographs.

Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended to ensure you get dedicated time with our buyer.

What should I bring?
Bring the jewelry and anything you have related to it such as prior appraisals, original receipts, certificates (GIA, AGS, etc.), original boxes or packaging. If you don’t have any documentation don’t worry, it isn’t required.

How do you determine what to offer?
We evaluate based on the type of jewelry,  metal content and weight for gold and silver, the 4Cs and market demand for diamonds, period and maker for estate pieces, and brand and condition for designer items. We cross-reference current market data, not outdated price guides.

Will I get the appraised value?
Likely not, and that’s not unusual. Appraisals for insurance purposes reflect retail replacement value — what it would cost to buy the same item new from a retailer. Our offer reflects fair market value, which is what a willing buyer pays a willing seller in the current market. These two figures are almost always different, and we’ll explain that clearly.

Do you buy broken or damaged jewelry?
Often yes, particularly for gold and silver where the metal value is the primary driver. Bring it in and we’ll take a look.

Do you buy jewelry that isn’t valuable?
We’ll always take a look and give you an honest answer. If something isn’t worth a formal offer, we’ll tell you rather than waste your time.
